Good News: LVTC Students Win Two Gold Awards in the National College Students Intelligent Supply Chain Innovation and Entrepreneurship Challenge

From News Center (Text by Huang Jianzhu / School of Finance and Logistics Management; Photo by Liang Darong / School of Finance and Logistics Management ) The national final of team competition of Moment in Supply Chain, the 6th National College Students Intelligent Supply Chain Innovation and Entrepreneurship Challenge was held on from May 26 to 28. Students from LVTC's School of Finance and Logistics Management performed well and won two gold awards. LVTC stood out from 315 teams coming from 186 higher vocational colleges, and is the only higher vocational college wining two gold awards. The competition is sponsored by China General Chamber of Commerce, organized by Anhui Polytechnic University and supported by The Commerce Economy Association of China.

This competition is accessible to all students at universities and higher vocational colleges and postgraduates with master degree across China. By using the "Supply Chain Sand Table Software", it builds a supply chain collaborative service platform to carry out supply chain management and operation from perspectives of cognition, construction, operation, collaboration and optimization. The competition consists of three stages: supply chain operation scheme design, supply chain operation confrontation and supply chain scheme design explanation. With a panoramically virtual simulation environment, it cultures the participants' integrated thinking of supply chain, management and operation ability, communication and collaboration ability, risk monitoring ability, and overall picture of innovation and entrepreneurship.

There are, by report, 850 teams from 490 universities and colleges from 30 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government signing up for the competition, including 535 teams from 304 universities, and 315 teams from 186 higher vocational colleges. LVTC sent two teams consisting of eight students from two majors, Modern Logistics Management and Purchasing and Supply chain, who were under the instruction of two teachers, Huang Jianzhu and Liang Darong, to run the competition. These students are, Wei Renwu, Lin Huazhen, Yang Shaojun, Feng Yuting, Chen Yeqing, Liu Xiaowen, Gan Wenqi and Guo Zijie. They went through hard training for more than a month. And the two teams landed the second and fifth places respectively in the final ranking of the competition among higher vocational colleges which lasted for two days. They won two out of nine gold awards and were also given the Excellent Organization Award, making them the eye-catching big winner of the competition.

This competition fully demonstrates the skills and professional capacity of the students from School of Finance and Logistics Management of LVTC, and further expands LVTC' popularity and influence in logistics management. Next, LVTC will continue to adhere to the reform idea in teaching of "promoting education and reform through competition", integrate competition programs into courses, strengthen the training on core and comprehensive skills, so as to cultivate more personnel skilled at financial and logistics management to meet the needs of industrial development.
