Good News: LVTC Re-elected as the Vice Chairman Unit of Guangxi Mechanical Engineering Society

News from News Center (Text by Gan Daxi from School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, photos by Secretariat of the 8th Council of the Society) On the afternoon of June 12, 2022, the 8th District Member Congress of Guangxi Mechanical Engineering Society was held in Jinhua Hotel, Nanning. Na Xiang, Secretary of the Party Group and Vice Chairman of Guangxi Association for Science and Technology, attended the meeting. Representatives of Guangxi Electronics Society, Guangxi Machinery Industry Federation, Guangxi Shipbuilding Engineering Society, Guangxi Artificial Intelligence Society, Guangxi Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Society, Guangxi Science and Technology Journal Editors Society were present to extend congratulations. Vice President Wei Lin attended the meeting at the main venue in Nanning on behalf of the school as the seventh session of vice chairman unit. Nine teachers including Gan Daxi from the School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering attended the meeting at the Liuzhou branch venue - Liudong Campus of Guangxi University of Science and Technology.

The meeting was held both online and offline simultaneously. The main meeting venue was set in Nanning, with 6 branch venues in Liuzhou, Guilin, Laibin, Yulin, Qinzhou, and Hechi. A total of 230 participants attended the meeting. The meeting examined and approved the work report of the seventh session of the council, the financial report, the revised constitution of the Society, the new membership fee standard and management methods, etc. Since the establishment of the seventh council, Guangxi Mechanical Engineering Society has been awarded the title of “Advanced Provincial Mechanical Engineering Society” awarded by Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society for six consecutive years from 2016 to 2021, and has successively won 10 honor titles, including the demonstration construction unit for academic ability improvement awarded by Guangxi Science and Technology Society, “Advanced Society Party Organization” awarded by Party Committee of Guangxi Science and Technology Society and founding unit of the first-class society of Guangxi Science and Technology Society. The meeting fully affirmed the outstanding achievements made by the 7th session of the council in providing scientific and technological service platforms for enterprises and universities.

The 8th session of council was elected at this meeting. Guilin University of Electronic Technology was elected as the chairman unit and LVTC was once again elected as the vice chairman unit. Wei Lin was appointed as the vice-chairman of the 8th session of the council. At the same time, LVTC was awarded the plaque of the "8th Vice-Chairman Unit of Guangxi Mechanical Engineering Society".

Being re-elected as the vice chairman unit of the society will strongly boost the integration of LVTC into academic research in the field of mechanical engineering construction, continuously improve the academic level, and improve the ability to serve local economic and social development; meanwhile, it will also build a better platform for the integration of industry and education, school-enterprise cooperation, and provide strong support for the high-quality development of LVTC.
