From News Center (text by Huang Xiuming at Shangyunke School of Software Engineering/photos by Liu Shengjian at Shangyunke School of Software Engineering) On May 12, 2022, the good news about Shangyunke School of Software Engineering of LVTC was heard that Wu Tianyang, a student enrolled in 2020 who majors in software and information services (UI design), a discipline jointly set up by LVTC and Wuhan Houpu Group, though joining in the competition for the first time, won the second prize in the domestic final for web technology in the 2022 Belt & Road and BRICS Skills Development and Technology Innovation Competition, held in Luzhou Vocational & Technical College. LVTC also won the Excellent Organization Award, and Chen Tengda, a teacher from the School of Electronic Information Engineering won the Excellent Instructor Award.

The competition was hosted by the BRICS Business Council, the International Alliance of Skills Development for Belt & Road and BRICS Countries, and the Belt & Road and BRICS Skills Development and Technology Innovation Training Center of the China Association for Science and Technology. Students from 195 middle and higher vocational colleges and technical colleges across China competed fiercely online and on the site. Students from LVTC were calm and brought their skills into full play, and thus achieved the expected results.

Leaders of the School of Electronic Information Engineering of LVTC attached great importance to this competition. After being informed of it, they immediately decided to send Wu Tianyang, a student with an excellent performance from the second "Tiangong Class", for the competition, and organized teachers and students for a study of the schedule, scheme, scoring criteria, and rating rules.

The competition involved full-stack web development, including front-end interface development and back-end data support. The results can be applied to web-related fields, and also to big data, artificial intelligence and others. Full-stack web development, a branch of IT, sees the widest area of employment, and students in it will learn how to develop web and mobile-end applications. The competition also laid a solid foundation for the students that will soon get jobs as interns.
