Good News: LVTC Projects Selected into 2022 Quality Improvement Project of Ideological and Political Education in Colleges and Universities in Guangxi

From News Center (Text by Wei Zi, School of Marxism) Recently, from the Notice of the Office of the Department of Education of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on the Work Related to the Project of Improving the Quality of Ideological and Political Work in Guangxi Colleges and Universities in 2022 (GJB [2022] No. 7) issued by the Department of Education of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, we learned that four projects of the School of Marxism of Liuzhou Vocational & Technical College (LVTC) were selected as the projects of 2022 Quality Improvement Project of Ideological and Political Education in Colleges and Universities in Guangxi and received a total of 400,000 yuan as project construction funds.

The four projects were: first, the project of ideological and political education reform in colleges and universities in Guangxi. The School of Marxism of LVTC was responsible for launching a series of ideological and political course selection activities in Guangxi. The amount of funding was 100,000 yuan; second, Enhancing Eight Capabilities to Cultivate a First-Class School of Marxism in Higher Vocational Institutions, a project to improve the basic competence of the School of Marxism with funding of 100,000; third, to continue to fund the ideological and political course co-construction project led by the School of Marxism of LVTC. The amount of funding reached 100,000 yuan; last, the support plan for outstanding talent in ideological and political education in colleges and universities in Guangxi and the research funding for outstanding talent in colleges and universities in Guangxi. The amount of funding stood at 100,000 yuan.

In 2021, three projects of the School of Marxism of LVTC were selected among the 2021 Quality Improvement Project of Ideological and Political Education in Colleges and Universities in Guangxi, and received a total of 320,000 yuan as project construction funds. In 2021, the School of Marxism of LVTC implemented General Secretary Xi Jinping’s decisions made at the symposium for teachers of ideological and political theory courses and required the LVTC Party Committee to be responsible for relevant tasks. The School adhered to the guidance of Party building and the leadership of the Party was integrated into all areas and processes of the construction and development of the School of Marxism. The construction of the curriculum system was strengthened to bring the Party’s innovative theories into teaching materials, the classroom and the minds of students. Endless efforts were made to improve quality of the teaching staff. A teaching faculty with strong political awareness, deep emotions, new thinking, broad vision, strict self-discipline, and good conduct was built. The School was committed to building a team of talented people and driving the development of other schools. It offered numerous lectures on the Party’s innovation theory for government departments, enterprises, schools, and communities. Following the spirit of the documents related to deepening the reform and innovation of ideological and political theory courses in schools in the new era by the central government and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the School of Marxism took various measures to strengthen and improve ideological and political education by focusing on fundamental issues of targets of training, ways of training, and for whom to train and played its due role in fostering morality. Good results were achieved. In 2021, it was awarded the honorary titles of “the first batch of model branches for Party building in colleges and universities in Guangxi in the new era” and “Party building leaders” and “academic leaders” cultivation unit in colleges and universities in Guangxi”, and received the honorary title of the second batch of “five-star” Party branches in Guangxi and the honorary title of excellent grass-roots Party organization in Liuzhou. Opening Up a New Battlefield for Theory Lectures and Removing All Impediments to Theoretical Guidance was listed as one of the first creative cases of Party building among colleges and universities in Guangxi. Party building has driven the education and teaching reform of the School of Marxism, and the education and teaching reform has been fruitful and achieved high-quality development. For example, the School of Marxism obtained the first prize for teaching achievements in vocational education at the prefectural level. Zuo Nihong was selected as a member of the 2022–2025 Teaching Steering Committee of the “Ideology, Morality and Rule of Law” course in colleges and universities in Guangxi.

In 2022, the School of Marxism will work harder to build the “22345” Party building mechanism, and complete the construction of a model branch for Party building work, a model branch for Party building in colleges and universities in Guangxi in the new era and a model branch for “Party building leaders” and “academic leaders” cultivation in colleges and universities in Guangxi. The School will make solid progress in developing itself to its full potential and realize integrated development of party building and education and teaching. It will continue to deepen the reform of ideological and political courses and build itself the pillar for ideological and political education. It will coordinate ideological and political education of LVTC and provide an “LVTC plan” for the construction of first-class Schools of Marxism in higher vocational institutions.
