Good News: Two Counselors of LVTC Win the First Prize in the 9th Guangxi College Counselors Quality and Ability Competition

From News Center (Reported by Mo Lina from Student Affairs Office) The 9th Guangxi College Counselors Quality and Ability Competition was held in Guangxi University from September 23 to 26, 2020. Counselor of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering school, Tang Yanhong, and counselor of Arts school, Qin Xiaochen, participated in the competition. Both of them won the first prize (there were 8 winners in total won the first prize, among whom only 3 were from non- undergraduate colleges and universities), it achieved the zero breakthrough to won the first prize for many years.

There were more than 130 counselors from different colleges and universities of the region attended the competition (53 of them were from non-undergraduate colleges and universities). After the preliminary contests of "theory test" and "case study", a total of 23 counselors were qualified for the final round (including 9 from non-undergraduate colleges and universities). Two counselors from our college successfully entered the final competition with solid basic skills and good performance to rely on. In the final competition of “presentation ” and “heart-to-heart talking “, they continued to perform their best and won the first prize eventually.

Student Affairs Office organized the counselors to take part in centralized and closed preparation before the competition for more than 20 days, and carried out pre-competition simulation exercises, theoretical discussions for many times with constant practices and corrections, which was strongly supported by School of Marxism Studies, School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and School of Arts.

The Student Affairs Office has always attached great importance to the cultivation of counselor’s quality and ability. It organizes relevant competition and training for the counselor team regularly, selects outstanding counselors to take part in various types of training and exchange studies at all levels, and thus the theoretical level and comprehensive quality of the counselor team have been significantly improved. This competition was not only a test to the management level of the counselor team of our college, but also a great inspiration to them to persist in learning and striving to become the spiker of students' ideological and political education, the leader of student management, and the backbone of students' growth and development.
