News from News Center (Text by Shi Yudan from Publicity Department of Party Committee, Photos by Zhu Jingmin from Publicity Department of Party Committee and Student News Agency) In addition to the traditional four astronomical seasons in a year, there is another season called the Season of Graduation, which is more beautiful and more memorable than the four astronomical seasons though not as long as them. In the morning of June 29, 2018, the College held the 2018 Graduation Ceremony on the fourth floor of the gymnasium at the Shewan Campus. Over 1,000 persons, including Shi Lingming, Zhang Xiang, Yang Yi, Qu Fan and Ran Fusong, leaders of the College, as well as leaders and related teachers from the Party and administrative departments and secondary colleges, teachers retiring in 2018 and representatives of 2018 graduates, witnessed the grand farewell ceremony held once a year.

The LED screen on site displayed the messages and wishes in a rolling manner. The graduates wearing the Alumni commemorative badges and yellow or white graduation commemorative T-shirts formed the two main color blocks on site. The ceremony was simultaneously broadcast on the College’s Wechat platform and watched by nearly 70,000 audiences.

The ceremony began with all teachers and students present standing up, watching the raising of the national flag while listending to and singing the national anthem. Later, all present watched the graduation video titled Hello! Tomorrow which was shot by the Communist Youth League Committee of the College with a great effort and presented a time-lapse display of the beautiful and unforgettable three years in just 7 minutes.

Subsequently, Vice President Qu Fan and Chief Accountant Ran Fusong issued certificates to Su Yisheng and other 35 students who were awarded the honorable title of “Outstanding Graduate” at the district level.

Qin Xiaochen, the Secretary of Communist Youth League Committee of College of Art, stepped onto the stage and gave sincere wishes to the graduates on behalf of all teachers, wishing that all the graduates would achieve success without a hitch in their future life.

The graduates present stepped onto the stage and presented bouquets to the teachers, administrative staff, dormitory keepers, canteen staff and security guards, thanking them for their earnest instructions and selfless dedication in their three years of college life.

Zhang Xiang, the researcher at deputy director level, then issued commemorative plaques and presented bouquets to the representatives of teaching staff retiring in 2018, thanking them for their hard work and celebrating their glorious retirement.

The representative of graduates expressed in her speech their gratitude to all teaching staff, and stated that they would endeavor to make a new and greater contribution while sticking to the College’s spirit of “being steadfast in life and conscientious in work” and focusing on their work.

President Shi Lingming made a speech and gave his congratulation to the graduates’ growth at the College and their step into a new journey. As to how to keep on the right track in their future life, Shi Lingming raised four hopes to the graduates as follows:

He hoped that the graduates would keep the country in heart and the mission in mind, have their personal future closely linked to the prosperity of the country, rejuvenation of the nation and advancement of the society, combine their personal ambitions and aspirations with the Chinese Dream and make each and every effort to contribute to the rejuvenation of the nation and prosperity of the country.

He hoped that the graduates would be dedicated to and hardworking at work, focus on their jobs, start small, love whatever they do and dig into it, and find their happiness in striving.

He hoped that the graduates would be optimistic and responsible, and dare to assume the responsibilities as a member of the family, the public and the society, endeavor to become a promoter of the construction of a harmonious soceity and a pioneer of a good atmosphere and make arduous efforts to realize the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

He also hoped that the graduates would always be grateful to their parents, teachers, relatives, friends, the country and everything that they may encounter in the way of their growth, and draw power therefrom to forge ahead with an aim to realize their own ambitions at their respective posts.

Applauds and cheers filled the venue after the Decision on Approving the Graduation of the Students of 2018 was read.

In the next two hours, up to 11:30, Shi Lingming issued the graduation certificates to the graduates.

Tomorrow, the 3606 graduates from the College will flow over into the rolling torrent of realizing the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and devote their youth to the prosperity of the country at various parts thereof.
